How a Funnel Audit Helped Double Sales in Just One Month

Aug 27, 2025

When our recent client came to us, she had one clear goal: she knew her funnel could be selling more. She was getting a lot of traffic from Instagram, but she felt like sales weren't where they should be or where they could be. She wasn’t frustrated, but she was aware that she could be doing more with the attention she was getting.

The Situation:

Our client didn’t initially realize that her business was in a slow season. She was selling a weight loss offer and her target audience were moms and professionals—and while summer had arrived and everyone was on vacation, she didn’t make the connection that this was a time when her audience may not be as engaged with weight loss. She knew she was selling, but she felt like her sales should be higher.

That’s when we dived into the data.

What We Did:

As we reviewed her funnel, we took a deep look at every piece: marketing materials, emails, sales pages, checkout flow, copy, design, and the data. We found a key insight: her funnel was missing crucial elements that were slowing down conversions. By strategically optimizing and giving her funnel upgraded copy and design, we set the stage to boost her sales immediately.

Here’s a breakdown of what we did:

  • Minimized work for her: For ease of not having to create new resources we kept the same opt-in (Snack Pack) leading to the same offer (The Enso Kitchen).  While the offer stayed the same, except for some updated content, we shifted how we positioned the offer. We wanted to change the perception from “that’s an expensive ebook”, to “wow what a deal for all this!” or “I wonder if this will work” to “Look at these incredible transformations, I am so excited to see this work!”

  • Updated Copy and Design: The opt-in, thank you, and the sales page design felt like three different brands. (The oh-so-common brand identity crisis!) The copy wasn’t as compelling as it needed to be, missing key parts, or WAY too much copy in sections hindering conversions. We completely overhauled these pages to ensure that they were aligned with her brand and crafted to sell almost instantly after joining the email list.

  • We added case studies not just testimonials: One thing she has going for her is that she has many incredible transformation stories from clients and before and after photos that really highlight weight loss but more than weight loss people’s blood pressure lowered, A1c improved and more. So we wanted to not only highlight the weight loss but other important health stats you can’t see from a picture. We used case studies in the sales page and emails to do this.

  • Email Series Overhaul: One of the biggest gaps in her funnel was the lack of a comprehensive email sequence to lead the customer from a free offer to a paid offer. We built a new email series that fostered early sales, nurtured leads, built trust, and guided them through the journey to purchase. These emails were designed to provide value, address objections, and keep her audience engaged.

  • Funnel Strategy: Beyond just the copy and design, we had to revisit the strategy behind her funnel. We reviewed each step of the process to make sure that her audience had a seamless experience from landing on her opt-in page to checking out. We wanted it to feel like a natural series of support they had been looking for vs someone feeling like they were being sold something they didn’t want.

The Results:

After making these significant updates, sales doubled in just one month compared to the previous month. This was a huge win! Especially since there was a US holiday (July 4th) during this first month of the new funnel which could have impacted sales as people are usually invested in family during this time and not emails trying to sell them something.

Would you be happy if your sales doubled one month after we improved your funnel?

Two months post launch our client said “I hoped sales would be even higher.” So I dove into the data even more. Unfortunately she has only been selling this offer since Nov 2024 so we don’t have a year’s worth of data to compare to last year. But what I did notice was that Jan and Feb had mega sales (which I would expect) and then sales started to slow as we got towards summer. However the sales doubled from June to July which was when we launched the NEW funnel.

This is when we had a heart-to-heart conversation about selling seasons. We pointed out that while she doesn’t have a year’s worth of data to truly know her business highs and lows, the beginning of the year is the high season for weight loss. Resolutions are made, gyms are full, weight loss plans are purchased. Summer on the other hand? Typically a slower season for weight loss focused products. And I could see the downward trend in her sales from Jan to June. Considering her marketing efforts stayed consistent this is likely just a typical season trend for her business.

This is really important to know and understand the seasons of your sales.

If you're in the wellness/weight loss space, Jan/Feb is likely going to be a high buying season.
If your products or offers are summer related then likely the high buying season is during the summer.
Think about when—based on your offer—high buying season is.

Let’s say you help families book their summer vacations, when is your high sales season? Not during summer. That is when everyone is enjoying the support you provided. It’s likely 6 months before when everyone is planning summer vacation. So gear up to sell more in the new year and less during summer. During the slow season is when you can plan, network, make improvements to pages, funnels etc so that when it is HIGH buying season, you are ready to rock!

Here is what buying season may look like if you sold pool floats, towels, and other summer products. Summer is going to be your high season of selling! Sure you can expect little boosts in sales around spring break or the holiday but Summer is go time. During the off season you could focus on working to get your products into stores for the following year, or planning your next product launch or seasonal sales ahead of time.

Once you have had a year (or two) in sales you can more easily see patterns of high buying times vs low buying times.

Then in an effort to maximize your efforts, lean into high season. If you sell pool floats in North America, then instead of spending $3000 in ads over the full year, spend all $3000 over high buying season — June, July, and August — when people are really wanting your product and looking for your product.

What we found was that, despite the summer slump that may likely be a typical trend in her business, the changes we made to her funnel had a real impact

We were able to increase her sales in the off-season!

Once we have a full year of data we will be able to analyze trends even better and continue optimizing.

The Power of a Well-Optimized Funnel:

Here’s the thing about funnels: when done right, they don’t just bring in more traffic; they convert that traffic into faster sales.

What was missing from her original funnel? It wasn’t just the design or copy—it was a lack of strategy and structure in the entire process. Once we identified and filled the gaps, the funnel became a much smoother, more effective process.

Not only was she selling more, she was selling faster!

Before we optimized her funnel, many customers took months to convert. After the updates, new cold leads where converting from days to minutes! This is exactly what a well-optimized funnel can do for your business.

I also want to mention that all three of these new customers (and many more) were BRAND new to the email list when they signed up for the free Snack Pack.

Although she had some new subscribers convert quickly in the past, the new and improved funnel is producing much more consistent fast conversions—with new subscribers now converting in minutes to days regularly.

Why This Matters:

With the data in hand, we were able to see that even though she felt like sales were slow, sales actually doubled during a slow season. And the key takeaway here is that now we have a benchmark. As we continue to work with her funnel and optimize it, we’ll gather more data and fine-tune the process. By the time peak season hits again, we’ll have a highly optimized funnel that’s ready to convert at its highest potential.

The Value of a Strategic Funnel:

A funnel isn’t just about getting more traffic—it’s about getting more qualified leads and converting them into customers faster. A good funnel reduces friction and simplifies the buying process, so your customers are more likely to take action.

When a funnel is optimized properly, you don’t miss sales opportunities. That’s why it’s crucial to have a professional audit your funnel regularly. If your sales are OK but could be better, then you’re leaving money on the table. You may have traffic, but you may not have a process that converts at its best.

The Takeaway:

In our client’s case, it wasn’t about frustration—it was about optimizing the process. A funnel audit helped her understand where she was losing potential sales, and the changes we implemented immediately boosted her conversions.

Even small changes can make a huge impact.

If you have an offer you're selling and a funnel in place to help you automate your sales, it's time for a professional funnel audit. It doesn’t matter if you're in a slower season or a peak season, if your funnel isn’t converting as well as it could be, there’s money left on the table.

At K+C Creative, we’ve been selling through funnels for over eight years and helping clients optimize them for four. We know what works and what doesn’t, and we can spot the missing pieces in minutes.
