THE AI ADVANTAGE Issue No. 17
THIS WEEK IN AI
I’ve been dreaming about a video editing team. Did I just find them? Let’s find out!
A friend of ours is building a video editing tool that runs through Claude Code, it's still in beta, and I've been poking at it and sending back feedback. I've been recording a lot of talking head videos lately (just me, my phone, my mic - maybe, hello #YAPCHALLENGE), and editing them is far and away the part that takes the most time, so handing that off is ideal.
IT WAS GOOD. THEN IT WAS TOO GOOD.
The first one I uploaded was a little over three minutes and it broke it down pretty well cutting out almost 1/2, except it partially clipped a section I wanted to keep, which didn’t make sense. Like your ADHD friend telling a story, sharing part of a detail before they move on to the next. #guilty
Then I ran a one minute video, it came back at fifty seconds, and my friends, it cut out every single breath.
Clip, clip, clip, clip. My head bouncing around the frame like I'd been edited by somebody who thought bobblehead Krissy was the goal. It squeezed out every pause I had, including the two dramatic ones I put in ON PURPOSE.
I said "cut the pauses" and it cut THE PAUSES, all of them, precisely as requested. But it went a little overboard. Remember AI is not going to be AS good as you want, from the get go. It’s only as good as what you put in. So you need to talk to it like a new employee. Train it. So I told it what I didn’t love, and it fixed it! And did a pretty good job!
"TRAIN IT LIKE AN EMPLOYEE"
I was quickly reminded that training takes time. Partially because you need to figure out how to communicate what you want and well, for some it can be challenging. Every day I am realizing more and more how important the ability to communicate is. To take something out of your head and share it with someone else in a clear, concise way is a skill that takes time to learn.
HICCUP OF THE WEEK: I have not saved one single minute
Zero. None. Every thirty seconds or so Claude Code stops and asks me to approve what it's about to do in the edit phase, so I get to babysit the robot that's supposedly doing my work for me, clicking Allow like I'm at the self-checkout and it needs an attendant every time I scan a banana.
HOT TIP: You CAN override the feature that continuously asks you to “allow” its actions so it just works on its own without checking in. Click the word right under your chat. Bypass permissions SHOULD be an option. (You can see it isn't for me)

We are on a team/organization plan so it’s different for us. I’ve looked for 20 min and couldn't find the solution before this needed to go out, so that will be a next week project!
THE ULTIMATE GOAL
The ultimate goal is to be able to sit down on a Tuesday and batch record ten videos back to back. We want to get you the most out of that shower and makeup! After recording, you drag all ten into a folder called READY TO EDIT, open up Claude Code to leave a couple of notes about what you want, then go to bed.
And while you're asleep, it edits all ten. YAY! Now we are editing in our sleep AND Selling While You Sleep! (Did you know I wrote a whole book about this?)
You wake up Wednesday to ten videos ready to post. Maybe three need a tweak. Fine. You fixed three videos instead of making ten. Or it runs while you're at lunch, or while you're writing your next marketing email. If it can edit for me while I am doing something else, great. That’s how we work like we have a team of ten. Because trust me. All those BIG influencers out there that SEEM like they are doing it alone, the Codie Sanchezes of the world, or Alex Hormozis, they DO have a video production team. So don’t compare OR strive for that level of production. PLUS people on social media are already getting sick of the AI perfection. They love some real, raw videos where they aren’t questioning if you are an AI robot.
I have not experienced the ultimate goal YET. This stuff takes time to tweak. BUT I will say that getting access to her system already put together saved me DAYS of time. I am not above buying a prompt, skill, or system that is going to jumpstart my progress, and I know you aren’t either because Claire and I have been helping you do that for a decade! If you need a landing page to start collecting emails but want it to make you look like the professional you are, then you grab our One-Page Website in a Day® Kit for $37. It will save you days of work by writing your website and giving you your design already 75% complete!
If you want to write blogs in an hour instead of four, you can grab our Blog Writing Skill half off this month with code WRITER50.
If you feel like everything you create isn’t cohesive, different colors, fonts or styles and you want to feel confident that you have a real brand, grab the Brand Book Template for $20.
We are all for efficiency and saving time.
WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED
The system I am using isn’t available yet, I’m helping finish work out the kinks, but I will 100% keep you posted. In the meantime, I’ll keep plugging away and bringing you insights as I go.
In the meantime I am dropping some guidelines you can use with your Claude Code to help edit a little faster into our Bonus section for our Paid AI CLUB subscribers.
